On TikTok, an entrepreneur with a phone beats an agency with a 50,000 EUR budget. That’s not an exaggeration. We’ve seen solo founders outperform brand accounts with full teams. The reason isn’t talent, it’s structure.
The advantages that matter
Decision speed. An entrepreneur posts a video on a trend that broke this morning within an hour. A big brand needs 2 weeks, 3 approvals and legal. On TikTok, 2 weeks means the trend is dead.
Unfaked authenticity. The audience feels the difference between “CEO speaks” and “paid actor playing CEO”. For our founder clients (especially B2B and services), content with their face generates 3-5x engagement vs produced content.
Formats that work for founders
First: behind-the-scenes from real decisions. You show how you make a pricing decision, how you turn down a client, how you solve an operational problem. It’s not ego, it’s education. People watch to learn.
Second: firm opinions in your domain. “3 things I’m not doing in sales anymore in 2026.” Works for everything that’s a professional service: consulting, agencies, SaaS, specialized e-commerce.
Third: stories from mistakes. “I lost 40k EUR on a bad deal. Here’s what I learned.” Specific vulnerability, with numbers, converts.
How much time you need to invest
The reality nobody tells you: 4-6 hours a week, minimum 90 days. Filming 2 hours, editing 2 hours (in CapCut, not Premiere), responding to comments 1-2 hours. Below 4 hours a week, nothing moves.
Cadence: 4-5 videos a week. Less, the algorithm doesn’t calibrate you. More, quality drops and you end up posting garbage.
What not to copy from big brands
“Cinematographic” production. On TikTok, a video shot on iPhone with natural light beats a video with a gimbal and pro grading. The audience reads expensive production as “ad” and scrolls past.
“Corporate” tone. No buzzwords, no “we’re passionate about”. You speak the way you’d talk to a friend over coffee about what pissed you off in business today.
How you actually monetize
TikTok doesn’t convert directly like Google Ads. It converts through accumulated trust. The pattern that’s worked for dozens of entrepreneurs we’ve worked with: 90 days of consistent content, then add a clear CTA (link in bio to a free offer or a consultation).
Realistic conversion: 100,000 total views in the first 90 days generate between 20 and 80 qualified leads for B2B services. For small product e-commerce, between 150 and 500 sales.
Concrete start
Set 15 minutes a day on TikTok Creative Center to identify 2-3 relevant weekly trends. Shoot 5 videos at once, each under 30 seconds. Post one a day. Repeat for 12 weeks before evaluating.
